I have zero interest in the prize, it's the lecture that interests me.

I really enjoyed it. I had no idea I would be treated to more, akin to finding important hitherto unknown Beatles tracks, a pile of Cole Porter songs, important stuff.

The surprise, shock actually, was the soaking naked autobiographical quality. I didn't see that coming.

The delivery was powerful, passionate, the performance artist inspired, hence at very best.

As for your analogy, the former (chronologically) is an anathema (hardly the first), the latter mere joke ... big difference.
