MHDT: A Class Act
Posted by bald2 on April 6, 2017 at 12:41:59:
I just posted this on the Digital Drive and thought I'd share here, as I want to relay an experience of excellent customer service that was above and beyond.
A couple of months ago I bought a used MHDT Atlantic DAC. The seller said that he used it in a computer based set up and that it sounded great. He sent it with extra tubes in the original packing, and it looked like new. I believe him when he said it worked fine.
Initially, the unit sounded great. After a few hours things went south. I got horrible hum and the DAC was unlistenable. I tried everything I could think of: changed tubes, interconnects, power cords etc...
I contacted MHDT and Jian had a new board sent to me from the factory at his expense. I'm not the original owner, so was not expecting such service. The new board didn't work and I came to learn that the factory sent me a reject by accident. When I informed Jian at MHDT, he immediately sent me one of his own boards-- no questions, and he wouldn't accept payment for shipping.
The new DAC is amazing and I'm thrilled. I will continue to support MHDT and wanted to relay this great experience. This is the kind of customer service that inspires both confidence and loyalty.
