I once had wood floor acoustic feedback and bouncing problems with an AR turntable

Posted by Richard BassNut Greene on July 19, 2006 at 07:14:05:

Roughly 1971 or 1972: A three inch thick slab of open-cell foam stopped the bass notes from feeding back through the stylus ... but the cure for the wood floor bouncing was to drill a hole through the wall and put the turntable on the other side (in another room). I was in engineering school at the time and the parents were quite confused by the new 3/4 inch hole through the wall for my turntable interconnects and thought I needed my head examined.
