I have both systems, each in a separate room. When my non audiophile friends come over, they enjoy watching movies/music videos on my Pioneer Elite and the surround sound, but they really get impressed with the stereo system when I take them to the listening room. They can't believe that two channel can provide such presence in the room. They are floored at the holographic soundstage I get and like it much better than the home theater set up. Now, when my friends come over, we listen to the stereo.
