'The Night Of': Intriguing, emotional, gritty . . .

Posted by Billy Wonka on February 10, 2017 at 08:47:46:

This HBO mini-series documents the arrest of an innocent young Pakistani-American for a crime "we" know he didn't commit. The evidence is overwhelming and John Turturro just happens to be in the right place at the right time to catch the case. Or does he?

Riz Ahmed plays the young man thrown into Rikers to wait for trial while all sorts of legal and investigative machinations happen. This is well acted and has great performances out of little-seen faces.

Highly recommended.

PS. VK, I said gritty so the War Department may leave the room.
