RE: I liked Moonrise Kingdom a little more...(nt)

Posted by geoffkait on April 8, 2023 at 11:36:57:

I go to Rotten Tomatoes, and flip through the reviews until I find one with only one or two stars.

"I loved "The grand Budapest Hotel" but "Moonrise Kingdom" is trash from the beginning to the end. I watched it twice (years ago, and today) and clearly my opinion on it hasn't changed. The movie is a succession of useless and pointless events, sexualizating a pre-teenager all along and badly played by children not made for the role. I also have the feeling that the celebrities have not adapt to the role but the script adapted to enlighten them, making the scenario unclear and clumsy. This movie already wasted enough time of my life, make yourself a favor and watch a real movie, because this is just trash stamped "Wes Anderson" a guy now too famous to be advised or corrected. It gives a compilation of "very special Wes Anderson scenes" but it's made up, it feels fake and doesn't seem right, it's just forced."
