'3000 Years of Longing': Adult fairy tale . . .

Posted by Billy Wonka on August 27, 2022 at 15:15:22:

This lush, rich with wonder story begins in earnest when Swinton buys an interesting bottle in (where else?) The Grand Bazaar. Later, her interest is piqued and she opens the bottle with some effort. Out comes a gigantic Elba relieved to be free. Thus begins an intelligent dialog between mortal and Djin who relates his past experiences over the past 3K years.

Swinton and Elba are flawless. They project intellect, emotion, and passion. All are supported by an excellent international cast directed by George Miller. This is very much a "big screen" film.

So far, this is my Best Picture. It's hard to beat the Brits in fantasy.
