'The Grudge': Nice little update . . .

Posted by Billy Wonka on January 4, 2020 at 09:27:28:

as the Grudge hitchhikes back to Pennsylvania for a spooky time. It lands in an older, once elegant house and causes mayhem regularly. A new local cop (Andrea Riseborough) gets hooked into the latest case and gets dangerously involved. Filmed with dim lighting and sepia tones, the atmosphere is very dark.

The film flashbacks to several different victims which explain the history of the Grudge's activity. The supporting cast is good: John Cho, Damien Bichir, William Saddler, Betty Gilpin, Jackie Weaver, and The Grudge. This is a strong B-List cast so the effort is there to elevate this above the average horror movie.

Probably best for UHD rather than a ticket.
