Announcing: Chicago Horn Enthusiasts Room @ Midwest Audiofest

Does that DIY, kit built, vintage, or custom piece of Audio equipment that you enjoy, ever want to meet some friends? Well dust it off and bring it to the "Romper Room", designed for the man (or woman)-on-the-street to listen, share ideas, learn, and have FUN. Speakers, amps, pre's, crossovers, favorite recordings (including vinyl), and whatever else you can dig up - are all welcome.
Want to listen to gear/projects you have read about, but not listened to or are scared to listen to alone? Want to hear what your gear sounds like with different speakers/amps/whatever? Bring your stuff and come find out!
Gear we plan on bringing will include (among others):
Altec Duplexes
kit-built Bottlehead Straight 8's
JBL monitor clones w/ Edgar "salad bowl" horns
various and sundry horns and drivers
pro-sound variable electronic crossover
Decware Zen Triode Dual Mono Integrated
Decware ZTPRE pre-amp
vintage electronics
vintage hi-fi "furniture"
SE and DHT amps (commercial, kit, and homebrew)
Kevin at DIYCable (a Midwest Audiofest exhibitor) has graciously agreed to sponsor the Romper Room cabling.
A "prize", of very dubious value, may be awarded to the "best" piece of gear to visit the Romper Room. Decision of the judges is final, and completely subjective with no set standards or criteria. Adult beverages are cheerfully accepted by the judges
