RE: upgrade OPT for TU-8200

Posted by Oface on March 4, 2016 at 06:52:41:

Ahhh yes, saw your post on the head-fi forum. I have been enjoying my 8200DX for about 2 months now. I really enjoyed the build and the eventual sound. I am about to start looking for tubes to roll.

How much are these opts? Wished they were offered when I ordered my 8200DX a couple of months ago. Because the only "complaint" that I've had is the great sounding results, but the bass is a wee bit shy/lean. I was owning it up to the stock EH el34's and stock 12ua7's. I now see the much larger opts available, and I am thinking that will help the bass.

BTW, my speakers are Altec 19's, and I've used them with sets and other PP based amps ( el84,6v6,etc...)and did not have the the lean bass issue.

Thanks Victor!
