Lux Obbligato Caps Leaking??

Posted by TWR on December 8, 2009 at 09:58:02:

I just opened up my Lux to replace the shorted power supply transformer. I noticed two pin holes on one of the output cathode bypass caps (47u/250V) with streams of thick white sticky stuff. The other channel capacitor looks like an end cap is pushed out slightly with the while sticky stuff showing. Couldn't be caused by the WE 300B output tubes since they have been working fine in the LDs that I've been using since the Lux went down many months ago.

What is going on? Please advise. Thank you.
