Marantz: Abysmal reliability and service's a joke in bad taste.

Posted by old geezer on July 4, 2003 at 22:22:01:

A DR6000 CD recorder/player I bought had to be replaced TWICE and it took SIX months to have a working unit delivered. After another six months of moderate use, it developed laser assembly problems. I was covered by a one-year warranty, so I'm out of luck. (Fortunately I made copies of approx. 300 CDs...)

In fairness, the quality of recording and playback is superb. The sound is practically identical to the CD6000 player -- much sweeter and more neutral than the OSE version, IMO.
