It's a great DAC, BUT it exhibits the same problem I also noticed with the upsampling upgrade to the MSB Link III and that is a general softening of transients and a slightly artificial elongation of notes. This effects things like slam and dynamic attack and tends to take the edge of brass, snare drum, picked steel guitars and any other instrument where fast transient attack (and decay) is necessary for a high degree of realism. This may not bother most people, but it really bugged me.
