same as a separate DAC rather than an integrated with a DAC

A Transport has spent lots of development, design and money on the disc mechanism for extra stability. Removing noisy DAC components. Improving power supplies.

If you're a "bits is bits" person it will make no sense. If you're an "everything in digital matters" person you'll get it.

But if you bury your preconceptions and listen to a good transport you'll be convinced.
