RE: Lampizator DAC with USB cable

Posted by classfolkphile on November 13, 2021 at 09:34:37:

I love my Amber II. The Amber line, IIRC, replaced the Level 4 tier. The USB input (older Amanero board) on the Amber II however, is of inferior quality. It was significantly bested by both Schiit Eitr and Singxer SU-1 USB-SPDIF converters, the latter of which I'm still using (into the BNC input on the DAC). I've only used 16/44, not DSD, FWIW.

Lampizator has upgraded their USB input boards since then and I spoke to Fred at Lampi USA recently to inquire about upgrading mine. It's apparently doable and I'm waiting to hear if it can be done here in the US (r/t than shipping it back to Poland which I don't want to do).
