RE: Marantz HD CD 1 Excellent Transport: MSRP $600

Posted by HiOnFi on November 11, 2018 at 09:41:08:

I had been using speaker cables off my prior main amps to the subs, but my new amp is a Audio Alchemy stereo amp, and AA does not advise doing that, so I have been using just my Emerald Physics KCIIs, which has excellent bass, but they simply cannot properly pressurize my volumetrically large ass room.

Finally, yesterday I reconnected the subs using the RCA outs from my Audio Alchemy Dac/Pre. It is like adding a super charger to an already quick car. It took several hours for the circuits, cables, power cords. and powered amps to warm up but WOW

he icing on the cake: The subs actually smooth out an otherwise slightly aggressive top end. Time to spin Jennifer Nettles "Playing with Fire" which should sound much better now
