Common thread seems to be the CDR's you use (burn)
Typically the 20$ (retail) cd.dvd gizmos found/fitted to 'Puters are of poor quality consequently so are their produced CDR's.
These can be Hard on the focusing mechanisims in a reader.
In short: your cheap DIY recordings are eating up your CDP players.
