Newbie idiot needs advice on a storage device for CDs

Posted by airtime on May 10, 2017 at 08:31:11:

Ok guys I'm not going to sugar coat this - I'm an idiot when it comes to digital but I AM trying to learn.

Here's what I'm looking for.

I use a Marantz NA7004 to stream internet audio about 99% of the time. I'm very happy with my setup and I'm not looking to reinvent at this time.

I only have about 60-80 or so CDs. Many of them are old copies from library CDs so no great recordings there. As well as a few better purchased CDs.

I would like to use a storage device to transfer the CDs too to free up some space in my rack by eliminating the CDP. But my Marantz seems to be a tad picky accepting some sources.

Example - I tried patching in the digital out of my NAD 521BEE CDP and it comes up with a "unable to unlock" message. I get that with most other inputs I try with exception to the iPod.

So what I would like is a storage device I can easily transfer CDs too. Then run a cord to my sitting area about four feet away. Then be able to select and play singles or CDs like a CDP operates.

Again the ipod seems to work the easiest. Any other suggestions? Anything else I should be looking at?

I would like to keep this on the cheaper side since I don't listen to these CDs often and most are of fair quality and content.

thanks
