47 labs Shigaraki, with cheap Sanyo transport

Posted by Crazy Dave on March 19, 2017 at 09:52:52:

There was a poster below that described his 47 labs Shigaraki, transport as having a cheap Sanyo mechanism. This makes me very puzzled about the value of this piece, that I would not consider cheap. Is there something about the utilization of this transport that would make it perform better than the many decent CD players that are now available in thrift stores for around $10. The Marantz CD5000 that I bought a little while ago for $8 comes to mind. Does the chassis and top loading make that much of a difference? With no remote an finicky loading, the Shigaraki is not very convenient.
