RE: I've...

TBone? Seems to me I haven't seen your moniker much at all on the Digital forum very often of late. Good to see you posting.

Cary 303-300 - had all Cary electronics at the time so I really wanted to love it. But it was the single most disappointing high end piece I've ever owned; nothing I did could improve it, including cables and tube rolling. From my memory, it was rolled off and was nothing special in bass power, mids or highs- very artificial (digital sounding)I couldn't sell it fast enough.
Raysonic CD128- had a different system at the time and it was in fact pretty good top to bottom - I just moved on from it
Simaudio Nova- from memory, a bit on the lean side and somewhat light in the bass- at least in the system I had 5 years ago.
Bryston BCD1- dynamic, decent in the bass, but a bit cool sounding- could not get involved in it
Krell Standard Mklll- it has more power and dynamics in the low end than other players I've owned, but its not natural sounding in my setup- possibly a lack of synergy?
