The Bryston player as does the Marantz SA8003 sacd/cd player use it

The BCD-1 uses the 4398 and so does the new Marantz. Fwiw. So does that make the 4398 a mid-fi dac since Marantz uses it?
According to Bryston's website, the BDA-1 also uses the CS4398.
