I used teflon bicycle chain lube on my Toshiba 3960 drawer mechanism, since that is what I had on hand being a cyclist. It worked. It's been over a year since I did it and haven't had any problems. I was ready to throw the unit out before I did it. I didn't have any manuals or anything, I just ripped it apart, lubed it, and put it back together.
The stuff is dry and takes overnight to fully dry out. It leaves just the teflon behind and isn't oily and won't attract dirt.
