Reminds me of N-rays
Posted by Atexanathome on August 7, 2006 at 15:59:45:
N-rays could not be detected by any scientific instrument, only by human beings. The sign of N-ray presence was a subtle increase in brightness of a dim light source in a dark room. Humans were the only reliable detection device. Unfortunately, it turns out that N-rays didn't exist;it was all in Blondlot's head, and in the minds of people who believed him.
I like Don Morrison's take on the subject.
