Creek CD player as transport only?

Posted by ts on June 16, 2006 at 13:15:57:

I'm planning to set up a dedicated headphone system using a combined DAC/headphone amp (such as the HeadRoom Desktop Amp or something similar). I have an older and presently underutilized Creek CD player (model CD43MkII) that has a coax dig output. This model uses the now discontinued Philips transport. I see no obvious reason why the Creek wouldn't work well with an external DAC, but would be interested in hearing if anyone else has had any experience or suggestions.
