My latest (Qobuz-enabled, and perhaps even Roon-ready) column for Hagerty Media is now up.

In it I get all nerdy about the intersection between popular dance culture and material culture and technology... specifically, changing tastes in social dancing resulted in larger dance bands, requiring amplification in order for the guitar to be heard, and, amplification that was less subject to feedback than just playing into a microphone.

The rest, as they say, is History.
