RE: cost ratio of class A vs Class D over time
Posted by ornery on October 31, 2017 at 20:45:30:
I'm curious to know how the cost ratio has changed over the years. Current class A full range speakers have median around 50k with average considerably higher. The 3 class D speakers are $249, $349 and $999. That's a median ratio of 149:1. What was it 40 years ago? Where is a sane point of diminishing returns? How many of these crazy expensive products are even that great?
