If the comments re Ayre electronics were in fact written by Jonathan Valin, ...

they can be disregarded out of hand. Mr. Hansen has commented publicly (see link and search further) on allegations of Mr.Valin's, ahem, unseemly behavior regarding the disposition of certain equipment that was in his (Valin's) custody for review purposes. Others have filled in on the affair, but Mr. Hansen has been perhaps the sharpest and most vocal critic, and to see Ayre products bad-mouthed in Valin's writings can reasonably be seen as an attempt at getting back at Hansen

Is this in fact the scenario in this instance? Who knows? But again, if the author WAS Valin, the red flags should go up.
