Yes - I have a recording of three of the Etudes. . .

. . . on the Urania label. It looks to be still available for download at Presto Classical. It's got three of the Etudes, and you're absolutely right about his playing of them. The SQ is somewhat dry but clean.



And here's YouTube upload of a performance of a couple of Preludes and couple of Etudes - I particularly like his "Pour les Arpeges Composes" Etude, but all four pieces are played magnificently.
