What RCA-RCA SPDIF Digital Cable To Use?

Posted by thetubeguy1954 on January 22, 2017 at 10:54:19:

I have a very good friend that is THE person I know of to-go-to when you want a tube or wire recommendation. At my request he recently made a suggestion for an RCA to RCA SPDIF digital cable I can use between my YBA Genesis CD-4 CDP/Transport & Musical Paradise MP-D2 DAC. For now I want to keep the digital wire my friend recommended to myself so I won't influence anyone else's suggestions.

Yesterday, Saturday 1/21/17 I went to my local monthly Audio Society meeting. While there I asked a few of guys what RCA to RCA SPDIF digital cable they'd recommend I use: ---{I want to make it perfectly clear that I believe my friend made a great suggestion for the RCA to RCA SPDIF digital cable I should use. I'm just curious what others would recommend in the same situation, ok?}--- the problem is most of these guys a diyers, so they recommended their digital wires and others are a bit too frugal IMHO. But one fellow suggested I post my question here and that's exactly what I'm now doing.

If you were looking for a RCA to RCA SPDIF digital cable to use in my system: ---{For those who don't know my audio system consists of a Mastersound Reference 845, integrated, SET amp, a YBA Genesis CD-4 CDP/Transport, a Musical Paradise MP-D2 DAC and Beauhorn Virtuoso speakers loaded with Lowther DX4 drivers}--- what digital wire would you recommend?

Since you now know what my system consists of, to further help you with you recommendation I should let you know I listen to mostly lady jazz singers such as Daria, Jackie Allen, Karrin Allyson, Sophie Milman, Margot Roi, Holly Cole etc., smooth jazz groups like Fourplay, Bob's Diner, Spyro Gyra, Flim & the BB's, Bill Cunliffe, Graus & Bronzwaer etc. and when the the urge to remember my youth strikes Progressive Rock like Yes, Genesis, Cryptic Vision, Triumvirate etc.

The traits I value the most in music reproduction are: correctness of pitch, tonal color aka timbre and harmonics. I like my music slightly on the warm side of neutral. I like to hear "inner-detail" but don't like hyper-detailed music reproduction. I value transparency and clarity so that I can hear a note decay until it vanishes into the dark, black, void of silence! While I like having as much frequency extension at both extremes as I possibly can, I value a correct midrange reproduction over frequency extension at either or both extremes and would gladly sacrifice the musical extremes for a beautiful midrange. I love wide dynamics and fast transient response and finally if I can have all I described above from a digital wire and a wide, deep sound-stage as well. That would be a wonderful cherry on top of my musical sundae!

TIA to all who respond. I'm actually hoping more than a few will recommend the same digital wire my friend did ---{it received some really nice reviews with one fellow concluding: in my system and in my listening conditions, (the XYZ wire --TG1954) proved to be a great cable with a musical performance far above its price. I will not hesitate to say it may easily outclass many legends of the high-end cable world}--- but in the end I'm just curious what others are using, and/or recommending others use, for a digital wire!
