Addendum 2: RE: Opinions of WireWorld Equinox 6 ??? - (I'll soon find out...)

Posted by Duster on July 11, 2012 at 17:21:27:

After much deliberation, I've gone ahead and placed an order for a 1m pair of Wireworld Equinox 6 interconnects to compare with a much more pricey pair of audio interconnects for use with a Motorola DCT2224 digital cable television terminal. Much effort and funds have already been invested in optimizing my digital CATV audio/video experience including a DIY Oyaide FTVS-510 continuous cast 5N pure silver digital CATV F-video coaxial cable terminated with ViaBlue TVR Series F-Pin connectors (6 foot) connected from CATV jack at the wall to DCT2224's coaxial input jack, with a Highwire Audio Power Wrap (0.375" diameter version) positioned at center of cable.

Even though the upstream in-wall coaxial cabling is crummy copper clad steel coaxial cable used by the CATV provider, it's wonderful how much an audiophile quality silver coaxial cable when implemented as a digital CATV coaxial cable from the wall jack can impact the sonic signature of a digital cable box analog audio output -- most profound perhaps being an affect on the bottom end, which is often the weak point of many digital coaxial audio cables -- the solid core silver Oyaide FTVS-510 helps provide a very authoritative bass presentation unlike any conventional RG6 coaxial cable that I've experienced, including other high quality aftermarket video cables including various silver plated make/models that don't perform nearly as well from an audiophile perspective. Video image is not nearly as impacted as the audio aspect is, IME. However, a solid core silver AudioQuest video cable from the CATV box to a Sony WEGA Trinitron KV-27FS100 CRT television video input is a truly excellent thing from a video POV...

I'll post a Wireworld Equinox 6 interconnect report down the road after ample burn-in and evaluation.

Cheers, Duster
