Ray Kimber found that in order to avoid leaching of the multi-layer platings of his Wattgate Audio Grade AC outlets and AC connectors, a thin layer of nickel was required. I use both the gold and the silver versions of the Wattgate Audio Grade AC outlets and AC connectors, and I've not detected any detrimental effects caused by the nickel substrate, but I really can't be sure of that. Perhaps if a demagnetizer was used on them, it might be an effective thing to do...
