RE: Supra Sword Vs Skywire 2020 Vs Audience AU24

Posted by kevb on June 22, 2008 at 15:47:58:

If you want to give Supra a try, go with the Ply 3.4/S (the shielded version) at about $100 for an unterminated 8' pair to see if you like the Supra "house sound", which to my ears is fast, uncoloured, and with oodles of unforced, natural timbre and detail.

The tin-plated conductor construction caused me to pre-judge these as inferior based on everything I've read here...but once I checked my biases at the door and tried them, I found them superior to pretty much everything I have tried to date. I'd like to try the Swords, but I'm too happy with the Ply 3.4/S to care....just make sure to ground the shield to the chassis of your amp only.
