VdH ICs - professional solution, how come?

Posted by gordan on November 16, 2006 at 03:13:30:

i've just noticed that some vdh cables such as integration hybrid and second are being now frequently mentioned as pro cables in studios and concert setups (especially for live recordings).

it surprised me a bit, as i've had a feeling that vdh products didn't have such a good reputation neither in the states with competition from nordost, cardas, transparent audio nor in england with chord etc.

vdh are not usually mentioned for neutrality, transparency etc - they used to have a reputation of a rather sophisticated tone control.

has something changed? cables or preferences?
