Re: Recommendations for terminating Eichmann Express 4 II cable

Posted by Basslines on April 21, 2006 at 13:08:55:

Barry,

First off, did you buy just the raw cable? Eichmann told me they wouldn't sell the raw cable as it is an absolute pig to work with and they only wished to sell it factory terminated. Where did you buy it?

Second, did you buy eX4 speaker wire, or interconnect cable? There is a big difference in the wire guage between the two, and the I/C would not be suitable for speaker use, and vice versa.

There is a difference between S1 and S2, in that, S1 has the conductors just running through a green overmolding. With S2, the 4 conductors are first put into a teflon envelope and then overmolded with the green outer material.
