MIT Speaker cables- where's the beef??
Posted by CraigE on March 14, 2006 at 11:49:40:
recently one of the spades on my fat MIT T3 speaker cables broke off (my fault), so I decided to reterminate to bananas. Upon stripping the ends, I was horrified to find almost no copper whatsoever used in the cables!! I mean, these must be 18 gauge or less. Ridiculous. Is there some musical reason to use next to no stranded copper? I can't believe that a well-respected company would try to save a few bucks by scrimping here, especially with thick insulation and huge terminator boxes. Please enlighten me, as I really like MIT speaker cables, much more than any other brand.
