I've built many of the Venhaus. . .

PC's, as well as his IC's and his recipe for braided Belden 1585A speaker cable. I've been quite pleased with all of them.

I can't speak about the difference between the cryo'd and non-cryo'd wire in his PC's, becaue all I've used is the cryo'd version. However I did build his version of the 83802 with a counter wrapped ground, as well as the non-grounded version before the advent of his current wire; his newer wires (the star quad flavor 4 and the flavor 2) absolutely blow these away. And I only used cheap marinco connectors.

If I had it to do over I would use the cryo'd flavor 4 on everything - it is that good; and it's star quad design is a little better at rejecting noise.

As for IC's I highly recommend the Finesilvers. I believe you can buy most of the components from him, though when I built mine he did not offer the silver wire. These made a simply stunning improvement. I originally built them with copper eichmanns; when I replaced them with the silvers (same IC's) performance went up yet again. The extra money was well worth it IMO.

I've also built Jon Risch's 89259/1506A IC's (unshielded) with copper bullets. This is also a very fine IC; I still use it to connect pre to sub.

Both Jon and Chris are very helpful if you should run into any problems.

Hope this helps!

Fred
