Tyson who posts most of his findings over at Audiocircle had a Spectron Musician II in his system briefly. He just recently had a modded Panny XR45. He liked the Spectron but I think I remember him saying it was too dry for his tastes. His findings are archived over there if you do a search.
I was interested in the Spectron for awhile but now with the Panny that can be modded to beat it for under 1K I don't see the point.
