It's odd that there should be two versions in this day & age

I don't see a good reason why 8 vs. 4 ohm versions should be necessary in case of good design. But then looking descriptions on the Akitika site, I didn't see any comment the precludes the 8 ohm version being use into 4 ohms beyond that the GR-108 "is well optimized for driving 8 Ohm speakers". Or vice versa for the matter. If anyone can resolve this mystery it would be interesting to hear the explanation.

Apparently ASR conducted most testing into 4 ohms which I believe is normal for them. However Amir did conducted a power vs. distort test at 8 ohm which delivered virtually identical results to the 4 ohm test.
