Perhaps, yes. But I am now using a vintage Eico HF-81 amp and it forms a perfect match with my open-baffle speakers. When I want a change (hopefully, not soon), I will bring my Silverline Sonata-III and will experiment with the Cary, which is quite compatible with them.
