RE: Repair In SW Virginia

Posted by Gene54 on June 26, 2017 at 18:51:46:

Thanks for all the advice, I'll check both of them out. The closest I've found to Blacksburg is Audiotronics up in Roanoke. Past experience dealing with chain store repair facilities has made me a bit cynical, but I'd love to hear if anybody's had some experience with them. One factor is this beast weighs 77 lbs, so just shipping it off to the a shop is going to add significantly to the repair costs.

I do have a copy of the repair manual. It has the schematics, PCB layouts and the BOM for the amp. So, who ever I decide on I'll send a copy of it along.

One more thing. Maybe I should post this in the speaker forum, but I'd be interested if someone has a Klipsch, K-1075 woofer for an SF-1. When the amp popped it also took out the driver of one of my SF-1 rears. I would also consider a whole SF-1 that was in bad shape I could cannibalize.
