It's using Hypex Ncore NC500 amplifier modules and a Hypex switching power supply. That's good news for sound quality. However, seems the MSRP is about double what it should be IMO. Perhaps a typo or they'll be deeply discounted.
More and more audio manufacturers are realizing how well the Hypex Class-D amplifier perform and sound. This is yet another case in point, where Marantz chose to use Ncore amplifier modules in their top-tier product, whereas they continue to use class AB for their lower-end Reference Series product.
Marantz doesn't disclose what type of driver circuitry they're using with the Ncore, but I'm sure they've put some thought into it.
