RE: Conrad Johnson Premier Two

Posted by Awe-d-o-file on February 15, 2017 at 07:57:49:

The PV-10 is not in the same league. As a dealer I never cared for it with or without the optional phonostage. The Premier 2 is in their better Premier line and has ten tubes including tube rectification compared to five in the PV10, just three if there is no phonostage.

Both are aging, need good tubes to sound good and might benifit from a cap upgrade depending on how much you spent. The Premier 2 is older by about 10-20 years depending on when each was bought.

If you got the two upgrading to an IEC and good power cord or a good hard wired improved power cord would yield big benefits as would disabling any courtesy outlets on the back if it has them. I can't remember.
