Amp Replacement
Posted by Doh on August 8, 2012 at 19:16:01:
Hey guy's and Gal's, I need a little help. Long storey short, I used to be into music scene quite hard. Age and kids change things. Anyways after all of the Sony/Luxman, products I ended up with an Technics SU-V650 Traded the Luxmna to double the power, (Thinking it was a mistake now). After replacing the speaker about 6 Years Ago with 6 ohm Quests, I noticed that watching a movie the Amp was Chipping Out. So I panicked, I still listen to Vinyl ocasoinally, so I needed an Amp that had Phono inputs. I found a Yamaha R-S300 Yes with a 4 speaker load I am at 3 Ohms per channel, but it has worked out well. Doesn't Rock like the Technics 90 watts (hense giving up the Luxman)
So my question is, is the Technics with Moving Coil Capability (one of the reasons I purchased it, but never followed through) Worth anything? Input switches need a cleaning. Or should I work on the speaker issue and go back to the Technic's Amp?
