Common stage Hybrid

Posted by BigguyinATL on February 7, 2012 at 11:34:16:

anybody know of an Amplifier that uses a combination of Valves and SS (Bipolar or Mosfets) in signal stage? Maybe in parallel or such that the SS runs in the class A bias "world" and the Tubes take over for those big voltage swings. I'm imagining a circuit with a reference amplifier and a "big swing" amplifier - maybe in the Stasis topology?

Heck i never think of anything new - in audio it's always been done before ... Twice!
