I find that self bias, WE connection and Gridchoke are a better choiuce ESPECIALLY for the bass. There are reasons, I posted previously an analysis....

No. There are reasons to use valve rectifiers even with switching noise free rectifiers, though these properties can be simulated using other passive components, but I think Valve Rectifiers look cool and make designing good sounding gear the DIY Way much easier.
