RE: An Empire Turntable History and Rough Time Line

I too am a fan of the early Empires, anyway, if not the later ones. We've done a lot of revision of the 208, including a new plinth.

The finish is not anodized on the original machines. It is either natural aluminum with varnish, or gold painted with varnish. That's why the finish can be so variable on the examples out there. Our plinth is actually anodized. The link explains a bit about our 'version' of the 208.

I run a Triplanar arm on my machine at home. The table easily justifies it.
