I dunno what the Level II mods are. Back in the day when Mitch did my (MM only)EAR, the only mod I was aware of was the replacement of the all critical C1 and C7 caps, and high speed HexFred output diodes. That's what he did. I had no phasing anomalies, or bass dropout. It just took FOREVER for the treble to stop being bright. I was about ready to return it to him, when SUDDENLY the treble sweetened, and everything was great. He was using some very high end caps, the name escapes me right now, but they're no longer in business.
Sounds like something's outta phase. Call him and talk to him. He's pretty workable.
