Though, I've not compared a 1600 MK2 that still has stock cables and no arm damp to one like mine(closest was my 1200 M3D,but different plinth material of course)---I want to say that the Cardas wiring is the BIG difference in sound quality...
I have yet to venture into that territory with the 78's and have been wanting to for so long. Have not gotten around to it.I keep seeing a few 78 records here and there at various Goodwills.I really would like a 'table capable of that speed but have no clue where to begin(as far as what particular brand or model would be suitable). I never did ask Scott if he knew how to mod or hot rod a 1600 to play at 78 RPM.
