I've been playing around with this enzyme-based three step cleaning system for LPs and I am impressed so far. You need the Mofi or DiscDoctor brushes for best results. The system uses:
Step #1: Enzymatic Formula - use enzymes to degrade the grunge in the bottom of the groove.
Step #2: Super Cleaner Formula - a cleaner designed to take out the enzyme formula and further clean.
Step #3: Ultra-Pure Water - 50X distilled and de-ionized H2O for the final rinse.
A full set at 16 ounces runs $38 which is reasonable.
My Test: I tried this on some very old and dirty classical LPs and some new sealed stuff I bought over the past week. I cleaned around two dozen records so far, many doing the AI solutions on one side and DiscDoctor on the other. I played after cleaning and listened for pops and overall clarity.
Nothing super-scientific but enough to get some subjective feel for overall performance.
Results: I found this system got more out of the grooves than my Disc Doctor Miracle Cleaner, RRL Super Record Wash and VPI Solution, even when the above were combined with Buggtussel VinylZyme Gold, itself a spray-on enzyme. The records/sides that were treated just sounded more quiet (provided a good pressing of course) and more detailed and dynamic.
The system is similar to the enzyme process used in the well-regarded Walker Prelude system but I like that the chemicals are pre-mixed whereas on the Prelude you need to mix up the enzyme solution. The price is lower as well.
I recommend this product highly. I am now experimenting with their Premium One Step Formula #6.
