That must be one of the longest posts ever on the forum! Still, I found it very interesting... I can't help but wonder how they managed to get it to work in the end.There is, of course, one thing that a demonstration like the one you attended can't really reveal - the sound quality. I've heard two kinds of rumours, some say that it's pretty good but nowhere near a Rockport and a great cartridge. And then other people say it's the bomb. Go figure - I'd really like to see some measurements of the thing...
Wasn't the laser TT Swiss, originally? Finial was the name if IIRC.
